Canberra celebrant, Judith Peterson, provides answers to the most frequently asked questions about her civil marriage, naming, commitment and vow renewal ceremonies. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have a question that is not answered below.

Q. How much do you charge to preside over a civil ceremony?

In the same way ceremonies vary, my fees vary, too. I suggest you contact me to discuss your plans. I will then prepare you a personalised fee proposal, for consideration. It will outline the scope of my services. I think you will agree my fees are affordable.

Q. Do you travel outside of Canberra to perform celebrancy services?

Yes. I have been fortunate to preside over many ceremonies outside of the Canberra region. Of course, it will depend on my availability. If you do have a date in mind for your ceremony, I encourage you to touch base early to avoid disappointment.

Q. What is the process to engage your services?

First things first. I am sure you are keen to feel confident I am the best celebrant for you. Let’s arrange a face-to-face consultation to see if we’re a good fit. We can talk through the process, which I typically tailor, depending on your ceremony.

Q. What differentiates you from other civil celebrants?

This is your special ceremony. I appreciate everyone has different expectations. I will go above and beyond help you create the celebration of your dreams. To achieve this, I draw on many skills – from my background as a social worker and trainer, to my knowledge of producing films and theatre (as well as writing, directing and acting)!

Q. What do your clients like most about your approach?

Based on the feedback I get from my clients, it is my calm manner and genuine love of being involved in their celebrations that are the recurring themes. My in-depth knowledge of my role as a celebrant also puts clients immediately at ease.
